security risks
Canada is one of the safest countries in which Chevron operates. However, while crime and terrorism risks are not substantial, they present persisting concerns for both company personnel and operations.
Despite very low crime rates in Canada, petty crime does occur in tourist areas and on public transport.
Canada's National Terrorism Threat Level is ranked Medium based on official concerns that violent acts of terrorism could occur in the country. Since 2006, authorities have disrupted two plots for mass casualty attacks by Islamist extremists in Canada. Domestic violent extremists, inspired by a broad range of extremist ideologies, have also engaged in indiscriminate, opportunistic, small-scale attacks in several Canadian cities.
healthcare infrastructure and disease risks
