worldwide travel advisory
worldwide travel advisory
Tensions between India and Pakistan have spiked since a terrorist attack in Kashmir in late April 2025, leading to exchanges of military strikes by both sides, especially near the de facto border. The situation has led to airspace closures, airport closures, and flight rerouting and cancellations with little or no warning. Travelers flying to or transiting the region should anticipate potential delays or cancellations. Tensions have also triggered public protests in both countries, as well as at Pakistan or India-linked sites in third countries, such as at embassies. Travelers should exercise caution, avoid large public gatherings, and heed security guidance by local authorities.
Global tensions stemming from the on-going conflict in the Middle East remain very high. As a result, countries in the Middle East region may experience airspace closures or restrictions with little to no warning. Travelers flying to or transiting through the region should anticipate possible delays or cancellations.
In addition to travel concerns, the conflict has led to a significant increase in public protests, including near religious institutions and embassies. Most demonstrations are non-violent, but clashes with police have occurred during unsanctioned protests. The conflict has also increased the risk of lone-wolf terrorist attacks, involving individuals conducting stabbings, shootings, or vehicle-ramming attacks.
Travelers should exercise caution and situational awareness and take the following precautions:
- Avoid company logos or identification on your luggage or clothing
- Exercise caution, especially when using public transportation, passing through transport hubs, visiting tourist sites or attending high-profile events
- Be vigilant in crowded locations, including popular restaurants, bars and clubs
- Avoid large public gatherings, which have the potential to turn violent
- Be prepared for additional security measures and potential disruption to travel
- Monitor media and local information sources
- All staff should ensure that their contact details are up to date before travel
